We just love all those bride-to-be's out there who are reviewing YourCover. We're so glad that they agree that YourCover is a really romantic gift idea or that using a YourCover personalized magazine cover as a wedding favor or table centerpiece for a wedding is really unique.

It gives the guests an opportunity to get to know a bit more about you. It breaks the ice at the table as people read the cover and compare how they know you. Other fun uses for a personalized wedding magazine cover are to put one in the rooms of overnight guests at the hotel or to give them out at the bridal shower.

Once again, thanks so much to bridetobe0309 who wrote about YourCover in her blog. Below is a snippet from her posting, click on "read more" at the end to continue reading.

Exhausted by unfunny milestone birthday cards in the Hallmark rack? Don’t have hours and hours to make and order your personalized birthday gift? There is a solution for you…

In theory, personalized birthday gifts always sound like fun. However, when it comes time to constructing custom birthday gifts, be they for a milestone birthday – like a 30th or 40th bash, or for an off number random year, like 33 or 22 – the gift giver inevitably gets swamped by logistics and extra costs. In fact, whether you're putting together a scrapbook of photos, hand knitting an embroidered blanket, or mocking up birthday T-shirts or apparel items, you'll no doubt spend far more time and energy than you anticipated you would when you first had your brilliant “custom birthday gifts” idea.

Is there a way out? Can you find an awesome personalized birthday gift that will be a terrific birthday gift for guys that won't break the bank, won't rob you of precious days of your life, and won’t end up looking gimmicky, cheep, cheesy, or overly sentimental? The answer is a resounding “yes”! The answer is a personalized magazine cover.

Here’s the deal – simply take a digital photo (or scan in a non-digital photo and upload it as digital) and use this photo as the basis for your personalized magazine cover. Then, using free online template software, add bylines, headlines, and other text and images to custom tailor the keepsake. You can generate bawdy 30th birthday magazine covers, complete with headlines describing bachelor-related trysts, work-related in jokes, and so forth. Alternatively, if you're celebrating a 40th birthday gift for a family man, you can design the page layout so that the kids of the birthday boy can write in their own headlines and even do some of the layout work. On the other hand, if you're crafting a 50th birthday magazine cover, you can riff off the timeless “over the hill” theme by, for instance, putting fake ads on the back cover for elderly assistance products, such as the Craftsmatic adjustable bed, The Clapper, and your local mortuary.

The point is, dreaming up and executing a personalized milestone birthday magazine cover is simple, fast, relatively cheap, and lots of fun to do and you will have a really great personalized birthday gift for all the guys in your life. You can embark on a project with friends and family, or you can do it quickly on your computer. Templates abound to help you get the job done efficiently, so you won't have to worry about formatting details and the like. So what do you have to lose? Explore this fun action today!

Wow - we had the most amazing review on this really great website called Boutique Cafe. They were looking for unique gifts for moms so one of their editors made a magazine cover for herself all about her baby's 1st birthday. Boutique Cafe is a site with a lot of interesting reviews of product. They have podcasts and an online TV show that you should check out. A big thank you to BC for including us - we really appreciate it!

Our previous blog post about using YourCover as a romantic gift idea for an anniversary failed to mention that we have started another site called "Unique 1st Anniversary Gifts". This new site can be found at Squidoo.com.

Of course we think that YourCover is the perfect personalized paper anniversary gift but on this new site you'll find lots of other suggestions for the traditional 'paper' gift. Other ideas are offered for the 'modern' 1st anniversary gift - clocks; and the jewelry gifts for a 1st anniversary which are freshwater pearls, peridot and gold. We hope you'll take a minute to check out this new site for unique 1st anniversary gifts.

Having a party and need creative invitations? Turn your personalized magazine cover into an invitation! Follow the steps below to create a “one-in-a-million” invitation for your upcoming event. Let's get started!

1) Design the front cover as you normally would but be sure to mention the party and indicate that the party details are on the back.

2) The "Editor's Note" is a place for you to write something special about the person or event being celebrated .

3)Use the "Facts About” section to give party details. Type WHERE the party is located, the TIME, DATE, and whatever other details you might have. Don’t forget the RSVP info. After you have typed your party information, click UPDATE to show your changes.

4) You can keep the "Top 10" section as is with for example “Top 10 Reasons to Come to (Name’s) Birthday Party” If you do not feel like including more text here, you can also add a picture of the guest of honor in this section.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
You can insert pictures in the “Editor’s Note,” “Facts About,” and Top 10” sections, in addition to the photo in the bottom right hand corner.

So remember, you can create your invitation however you chose! The steps that we have given you are simply an example to help you create your own variation!

Well…that depends on you! To start creating your personalized magazine cover, you need to sign up for an account (for free) using an e-mail address and password. Once you have done that, creating a magazine cover depends on how much time you want to put into your design. Some people spend 10 minutes and others take several hours over the course of a few days tweaking colors, font and text till everything is just perfect.

If you are creating a personalized magazine cover for a birthday, wedding, anniversary, retirement, or any other type of celebration you will need some digital photos to show off the star(s) of the magazine. Once you have uploaded your pictures, you have already started the first step to your unique personalized gift!

It’s up to you on how long you want to take to finish creating the rest. You can adjust the color font and text to suite the background of your pictures, and coordinate the colors with the front and back! Do as you please! You have the freedom to save your design and log out and then to go back and make adjustments until you feel it is absolutely perfect!
Once you feel you have created your magazine cover masterpiece, place your order at YourCover.com.  You can receive your magazine cover in one of two ways - you can purchase the magazine cover photo file download which gives you electronic files that you save to your computer and print at home.  The other choice is to have YourCover print and frame your magazine cover for you (free shipping is included with this option).

So, have fun as you create a magazine cover for that unique person or couple. Don’t rush it, take your time, and use your creativity because it will be worth it in the end :o)

Trying to pick the very best photo for the front of your personalized magazine cover is the most challenging part of creating your magazine cover because you want the very best photo to highlight the star of your unique photo gift!

To make sure you get that clear, crisp and perfect photo for your personalized magazine cover, there are several things to keep in mind . First and foremost, make sure your picture is somewhere around our recommended pixel dimension of 1024x1280. To figure out the pixels on your photo, simply scroll your cursor over the photo, and the dimensions should pop up in a little box. If it doesn’t, open your photo in your photo software (i.e. Kodak, Adobe, Microsoft Picture, etc.). Then right click on your picture, and click properties. Your pixel information should be shared here as well. Usually your photo will still look good at a resolution of 600 x 800 as long as you are using the whole image and not just cropping in on one person’s face.

Okay, now that we’ve gotten pixels out of the way, let’s talk about how to upload your very best picture onto the front of your personalized magazine cover.

THE BEST possible way is to use a photo that comes from a digital camera. A digital camera is your best bet because the pictures are directly uploaded to YOUR VERY OWN computer where you can then upload to the front of your magazine cover.

If someone sent you pictures through your e-mail, there is a chance that they might not come out as great as you might like. However, it could work, if they are sent at full resolution (not made smaller as usually suggested by email software).. Photos taken from a cell phone or copied from Facebook or a website WILL NOT work as a front cover photo for your magazine cover – the resolution is just too low.. Photo sharing sites such as KodakGallery usually won’t allow you to download a friend’s photo at a high enough resolution – you need to get the photo owner to give you the original image or give you access to their account to download the full size version. (The photo sharing sites want you to BUY photos from them, not download and print them yourself which is why they don’t let you download full-res images.)

If you have a printed version of the picture you would like to use, you can go to the nearest CVS,Walgreens, Target or similar store to have them scan your picture for you! Be sure to ask them to scan at the highest resolution (remember it’s being enlarged to 8.5” x 11”) so your picture can come out crisp and clear! They will put your picture on a CD for you. Then insert the CD into your computer and upload your perfect photo for the front cover of your personalized magazine cover!

Don’t forget to have fun of course!

Summer is just around the corner! Hold on to your camera to catch those hilarious summer moments around the barbeque or on the family vacation. If you are searching for unique photo gifts for your summer birthdays, anniversaries or reunions - a personalized magazine cover is just the ticket.

If your family is taking a trip this summer, a unique way to catalog the trip is with a personalized magazine cover. Put your favorite picture from the vacation on the front cover, in addition to your most memorable quotes said over your trip! With a YourCover, you will be able to reminisce about that hysterical, exciting, or historical family vacation you took that one summer...OR...THAT BORING ONE TOO!

The back cover also adds more space for photos and text so you can't leave ANYTHING out from your glorious trip with your family. If you didn't take a vacation, that's okay.
If you are planning to have barbecues instead, I'm sure with your friends, family, and neighbors around there is no doubt that something might happen.
The summer flies by because everyone is having fun, so don't make this a summer where everyone is going to forget. Have them remember it by putting them on a personalized magazine for their summer birthday, personal celebrity (example title:"GRILL MASTER"), or an anniversary. You can use it as a centerpiece, invitation, or party favor for your summer event!
