You can scan the photo at home if you have the proper equipment or bring it to your local photo shop, or stores such as Kinko’s, Wal-Mart, Target or Walgreens that offer scanning services. Scan the photo at a minimum of 300dpi; anything lower will produce a grainy, out-of-focus image.

Ordering a Magazine Cover

What is a PDF?

PDF stands for "Printable Document File".  It is not an image file - it is more like a "locked" Word document.  You view it and print it as is - you can't change it.

You will need Adobe Reader to open a PDF.  Most computers come with Adobe Reader but if you don't have it, you can download it for free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Can I stop working on my personalized magazine covers and come back later?

Yes. Just be sure to click "Update" and then click "Save & Logout." All your work will be saved for when you log in later.

Why does YourCover need my email address to log into my account?

This is a unique way to identify your account and enable you to log in and out of our site with ease. You won’t be bombarded by emails; but we may contact you to remind you to finish an incomplete project. We do not sell or give customers’ email addresses to third parties for any commercial purpose.

How do I use the text-guidance system to customize my fake magazine covers?

Click on the text box you wish to revise. Click on the drop down list, Suggested Text About, Choose a topic from Select Topic and a pop up box with a list of suggestions will appear. Click on the desired suggestion and it will populate into the text area. Make any changes (e.g., name, font, color, size) and click "Update." Your text will now appear on your magazine cover.

When I create a magazine cover, why must I turn off my pop-up blocker?

Almost all our directions, tips and hints are placed in pop-ups. If you do not turn it off or add www.YourCover.com to your allowable-sites list, you will not be able to use the text-guidance system or view any hints and tips. You may have more than one type of pop-up blocker. Check your virus protection software, your operating system software and your internet software (i.e., if you use toolbars from Google, AOL or Yahoo, check for their pop-up blockers).
